More Moi

I am a frumpy artist. I was doing desktop publishing and graphic design for over 10 years. My corporate career came to a halt when my severe endometriosis caused me even more issues with my spine.

I have stage 4 endometriosis. Endometriosis is a disorder where endometrial implants/tissue grows where it shouldn’t. “Endometriosis implants cause inflammation when they grow and bleed during a person’s menstrual cycle. The body responds to this inflammation by forming scar tissue during the healing process. Large clumps of scar tissue may develop in the areas that endometriosis affects.” (https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/endometriosis-adhesions#what-are-they)

All the scare tissue causes your organs to adhere to other organs. It isn’t fun.

I’ve had four laparoscopies so far where they’ve tried to save my insides from all that crazy shite. First two weren’t too helpful since the doctor was more tailored to the fertility side of things and not the surgery part of things. Those surgeries just caused way more scar tissue to develop. The third surgery which was at Innovative GYN was very helpful. Took 5 hours but they did a lot to help my insides. Fourth also took 5 hours and they cleaned up everything but I did develop some issues after. Good news – those issues are slowly resolving themselves.

Other than all that madness, I’m trying to live a simple life. More family-centric. Healthier. All that matters to me is keeping my body healthy, appreciating my family (doggos included; maybe kitty one day), and enjoying things like vintage clothing, video games and Dungeons & Dragons (DnD, D&D).
